NOW - Exhibition @ Improper Walls Vienna
This work is part of a limited Series created for the NOW exhibition: NOW - Can Art Survive Social Media? An artist rethinks art in a world where we are ALL creators. Olivio Sarikas challenges our accepted understanding of art in an enticing installation. Denying the concept of the superior genius creator and instead his concept of “Visual Culture” aims to delete the barrier between audience and art. Olivio puts the audience in the middle and makes art the result of all of us. After studying Art and Philosophy in Vienna and Munich, Olivio Sarikas started a company for Design and Marketing. His philosophy in both art and design is based upon reaching out to the community. Having recently founded Fordenker, to connect brave thinkers and relentless innovators, Olivio’s path is to re-imagine art and strives to create works that are created by the audience and base themselves on the local visual culture. Inclusion and empowerment are at the heart of his works. “Innovation needs to be thought through integration” said Olivio Sarikas, addressing a time that increasingly depends on inclusive culture and open art forms. The exhibition NOW opens on 31. August at 19:00 in the Improper Walls Gallery: Reindorfgasse 42, 1150 Wien, Austria. By Design the exhibition only lasts for 3 days, to inspire immediacy and self-experience.
